APRIL 1st
just now
before the sun breaks
it is so very still
cold
lovely
snow covers
every leaf
every branch
the back porch
but you know
that breathless moment
when the sun
moves through the frozen clouds
as it just did
snow will break
drop
dissolve
leaves will unfurl
branches bounce
and I stand barefoot on the back porch
with my coffee
